SPEED BABES
“DON’T WANNA BE SCENE”

Chicago punk rockers Speed Babes are the epitome of their name, releasing music at an insane clip. We’re premiering their new video “Don’t Wanna Be Scene” from their record 1981, released at the beginning of March. Shot in a session with two other videos over three hours, it’s a hilarious depiction of how the trio would act on the red carpet. If you don’t know Speed Babes, this burner of track is the perfect introduction to their raw punk sound and give no shits attitude. CARLILE
“SPARE ME”

Two artists from Chicago, who now reside on opposite coasts, have come together to produce the visually stunning video of Carlile’s electro pop anthem “Spare Me.” A stand alone single from last Spring the song tells the story of an ex who won’t stop meddling in a new liaison. Under the direction of award winning designer, illustrator, and art director Mack Neaton, her directorial debut is a lavish affair with striking images and a sense of dread set in the backdrop of a dinner where “nothing is edible.”

Bodyplex and New Trash
”Are You There Sasha?
It’s Me Bodyplex”

New Trash has been producing and directing videos for artists in Chicago for several years, and this new work is a collaboration between the filmmaking duo and electronic maven Bodyplex. With its throwback graphics and Tim and Eric Awesome Show vibe, “Are You There, Sasha? It’s Me Bodyplex” is a blast from start to finish. We had a chance to talk to the guys from New Trash and are honored to premiere their first long form work.

JARED RABIN
”NO DIRECTION”

The Americana glow of Jared Rabin’s new video is a warm reminder that winter only has a few months left. The title track off Rabin’s new record No Direction is a country tinged roller full of golden harmonies and a singalong chorus that just won’t go away once it’s got it’s hooks in your ears. Directed by Kyle Dunleavy from Rhapsody Productions this eye catching video is getting an exclusive premiere here, and you can find “No Direction” on all streaming services now! We caught up with Rabin for a few comments ahead of the March 27th release of the full record.

BLEACH PARTY
"NEW FASHION”


We adore the punk infused rock ‘n’ roll throwback masters Bleach Party, and think you should too! Which is why we’re premiering their new video for “New Fashion”. Filmed at the now defunct Hollywood Mirror during its final days, its a fitting goodbye to a Chicago institution and a damn fun video. Check out “New Fashion” on all streaming services on last year’s excellent NOLA LP, you won’t regret it.

"Shoeboxes”

Our very first video premiere comes from Chicago electro folk/pop wonder Kate Schell and her new video for “Shoeboxes.” Directed by Naomi Cherie Bessette and shot on location in Lockhart, Texas, the video is a fascinating visual treat to accompany the the beauty of Schell’s tune.
