Nov 6 Releases We Can't Wait to Dig Into

We are delving into upcoming release lists. We are keeping tabs on singles. We are scrolling endlessly through Instagram. We are looking for submissions. All to help connect you to the best new music. It’s hard not to miss that Common has a new album (we love it and you should check it out!), but this is about finding the shit that isn’t all over the radio. We are seeking bands we would normally discover by going out to the Bottle or Schubas or Reggie's on a random night and bringing them to you.

Closed Sessions

We found this mixtape on a Nov 6 release list, but it actually came out on Oct 20. So it really shouldn’t be on this list. But we are throwing it on here anyway. Kipp Stone’s POV blazes like fire. Deep self examination runs through every song; giving voice to the existential struggles woven into this moment. He is exposing his humanity with a specificity that draws in the listener. Showing weakness and strength. Love and hate. Self and society. Don’t let his voice go unheard. Check this out.

We Are Busy Bodies

We were instantly smitten with this James Taylor-esque folk rock. Sometimes you just need to be carried away on waves of soothing vocals, rolling beats, and layered guitar.

The title of this one caught my eye. Fellow Doctor Who fans will know, Petrichor is the smell of the first rain when it has been warm and dry for a long time. Evocative to say the least. But more importantly, her blistering psych single "Jump into the Fire" really has us stoked.

That’s it for this week. It bears repeating, we want to cover Chicago music, so if you have something coming out, please submit it!
