The melancholy confessional style of Now Only and A Crow Looked At Me continues here with plenty of journalesqe tunes celebrating how difficult and beautiful life can be. A dichotomy that has always made Mount Eerie stand above his singer/songwriter peers.

Xylouris White / The Sisypeans / Drag City

Xylouris White create explorations of traditional Cretan tunes with Xylouris’ chosen instrument the laouto (a Cretan longnecked lute) and White’s innate sense of rhythm. Their fourth collaboration, The Sisypeans connects with Xylouris’ roots in capturing the Cretan sense of “eternal recurrence of themes and techniques.” A relaxing and compelling listen for anyone in the mood for a journey away from the everyday.
