WHAT WE’VE BEEN JAMMING TO

ISSUE #39 / DECEMBER 13, 2018

Saba
Papaya

Another groovy track from the Westside rapper, his fourth in the past two months; and he’s selling out shows in Australia and Asia as we speak! Saba, what can you not do?

His World Tour ends in March and we are praying to the music gods for a homecoming show! It will have been three plus months since the Concord show! Come on, we need more!

Fucked Up
Taken

The B side to “Raise Your Voice Joyce,” a single off this year’s record Dose Your Dreams. This Toronto act has only gotten better with age, journeying far beyond their hardcore roots to experimental zones all their own. Nothing quite sounds like Fucked Up.

Currently gearing up for a Winter Europe run they don’t have any U.S. dates soon.

Broken Bells
Shelter

Danger Mouse and James Mercer have once again joined forces for a third record as Broken Bells and this is the first single off the yet to be named new album. A haunting tune with a face forward drum beat that rides over the top of typical Mercer melancholy.

We’re sure they are gearing up for a Festival Run this Summer.

The Way She Looked at You / Devil May Care

A country ballad from the North Carolina outfit that reaffirms their roots while still leaving room for the rockabilly B side “Devil May Care.” Local imprint Bloodshot has really found a special artist.

They are coming to the Lincoln Hall Friday January 18th as part of Tomorrow Never Knows Fest. Tix are $15. And there are still five day passes left for the amazing lineup. 5 day passes are $100.

BLOXX
Sea Blue

An affecting break up tune from the West London quartet, their fifth single of the year. We’re waiting on a full length we are hoping drops early next year.

The English indie rockers don’t appear to have ever played Stateside yet.

David Keenan
Evidence of Living EP

The 23 year old Irish songwriter has a penchant for pulling heart strings and this four song EP is stirring evidence of just such a talent.

He visited the Elbo Room last summer and we are hoping for a stop when he plays SXSW in March!
