Ghetto Sage
Häagen-Dazs
The world asked and they answered. Ever since the Noname, Smino, and Saba hit the stage for a spot during Noname’s 2018 Pitchfork set, and their collab for “Ace” on last years instant classic album Room 25, the Chicago rap world has gone crazy for the three to work together again. Dehd
Letter
As the local trio of heroes, Dehd, hits every spot they can in Europe this fall they’ve dropped a single and accompanying video to keep us all company till they return. “Letter” continues the themes explored in Water of moving on from a relationship and finding the courage to find oneself once again. As they expertly put it “‘Letter’ is the beginning of the end of an era.”
Diagonal
Negatives
Another fuzz steeped opus from the post-punk psych masters Diagonal. Following in the footsteps of last winter’s EP You Are Free and single “Detroit/Are ‘Friends Electric” 7” comes this earworm that latches on and just won’t let go. “Negatives” says all it needs to about this local five piece who just keep the groove riding all the way home.
